Terms of use
- Viewing results is free and needs no account. To bid in auctions or take part in events you need an account, and you must be 16 or over.
- Keep your password to yourself. One account per person.
- All payments are made by bank transfer to the organiser named on the auction or event, using the payment reference we give you.
- If you win an auction or take part in a paid event and don't pay, your account may be banned and you may be asked to pay what you owe.
- A bid is a promise to buy if you win. Bids can't be withdrawn.
- Uploaded results must be genuine. We may correct, remove or decline any upload.
- We may suspend accounts that break these terms.
- Events and adverts are provided by their organisers and advertisers. NI Pigeons doesn't run, sell or recommend them; please check details with the organiser or business directly.
Forum rules
The forum is for members who are 16 or over. By posting you agree to these rules. Moderators may remove any post, lock or delete any topic, and stop any member posting, at any time and without notice.
- Be respectful. Disagree with ideas, not people. No abuse, insults, threats, bullying or harassment.
- No hate. Nothing that attacks people for their race, religion, nationality, sex, sexuality, disability or age.
- Nothing illegal. No content that breaks the law, including anything defamatory (untrue claims that damage someone's reputation), threats, or encouraging animal cruelty or the use of banned substances.
- No personal details about other people, such as addresses, phone numbers or loft locations, and no photos of people without their permission.
- No spam or advertising. Businesses can advertise through our adverts instead. Don't post the same thing repeatedly.
- Don't pretend to be someone else, or post on behalf of an organisation without its permission.
- Bad language is starred out automatically. Using it to get round the filter, or to abuse someone, breaks these rules.
- You're responsible for what you post. Posts are your own views, not those of NI Pigeons or any organisation. By posting, you allow us to show your post on the site; you can remove your own posts at any time.
- Reporting: use the Report link on any post that breaks these rules. Reports go to the moderators, who review them as soon as they can. If you think a post of yours was removed unfairly, or want to complain about how a report was handled, contact us.
- Repeated or serious breaches may lead to your account being closed. Content that may be illegal may be reported to the police.
Auctions
- NI Pigeons provides the website only. Each sale says who it is run by or on behalf of. The contract for each bird is between the buyer and the seller.
- Descriptions, photos, pedigrees, sex, age, health, fertility and condition are provided by the seller. NI Pigeons does not inspect birds and gives no guarantee about them. Any question or dispute about a bird is between buyer and seller.
- Bidding is by maximum bid: the site bids on your behalf, one step at a time, up to your maximum. Bid steps: under £100, £5; £100 to £499, £10; £500 to £999, £25; £1,000 and over, £50.
- A bid can't be withdrawn. The highest bidder when a lot closes has agreed to buy it at the final price.
- Lots close one after another at the times shown (UK time). A bid in the last few minutes of a lot extends its closing time, as stated on the sale.
- Some lots have a reserve price. A lot doesn't sell unless bidding reaches its reserve.
- Payment is in full by bank transfer within 7 days of the lot closing, to the account and with the reference given to the winner.
- If payment isn't received in time, the lot may be offered to another bidder and the non-paying bidder's account may be banned. Bidders with a lot past its payment deadline can't bid until it is paid.
- Collection is arranged by the buyer with the seller. The sale states roughly where the birds are kept. Once payment is confirmed the buyer is given the seller's phone number. NI Pigeons does not transport birds and is not responsible for birds before or after collection.
- Any fee is charged to the seller, not the buyer.
